Shoulder Pain
If you’ve been dealing with shoulder pain, you already know how much it messes with your life. Everything gets harder.
Your shoulder has the biggest range of motion of any joint in your body. That’s great for movement, but it also means it’s one of the easiest to injure. Small strains, poor posture, overuse, or one wrong move at the gym can leave you with pain.
Why Your Shoulder Hurts
Shoulder pain usually comes from two places, sudden injury or overuse.
-
Sudden injuries happen fast: This can be because of a fall, a bad throw, a tweak while lifting. You’ll usually feel it suddenly
-
Overuse injuries creep up over time:Maybe you,ve been sitting too long at your desk, repeating the same motions at work, poor posture, or stress.
The common symptoms you’ll deal with are usually rotator cuff strain, frozen shoulder, tendon inflammation, impingement, or tension that builds from neck or back problems.
How Physical Therapy Helps
Physical therapy works because it allows you to pinpoint the right problem that way you can get the right plan to overcome your injuries.
Your therapy may include:
-
Gentle manual therapy to release tight muscles and reduce joint pressure
-
Stretching and strengthening drills to bring back full range of motion
-
Posture and movement correction so pain doesn’t keep coming back
-
Activity modifications to take pressure off your shoulder at work or home
